I have a 351 C in my truck and have no idea what year cleveland it is or even what it came out of. But i was just wonderin how much horsepower a stock cleveland produces, I know the figures are different for different years because of emission laws and stuff, but what would the average Cleveland produce? I have a 2v, 2bbl cleveland, and i'm thinkin about goin to a 4bbl intake, how much hp increase would I be lookin at 5-10 hp?
I know somebody's gonna say it's not a cleveland because it's in a truck, but it's not the stock engine and it is a cleveland.

You're right about the years varying, but your average 2 barrel 351 Cleveland should put out 200-250 horsepower. I'd say putting on a 4 barrel carby will increase power by more than 5 - 10 hp. I'd say it would give at least another 20 hp, maybe more. Extractors (headers) would give you a good bit more too. Actually if you replace your 2 barrel, cast iron exaust manifolds with the right combination of 4 barrel and extractors, your fuel milage should increase allong with the power,

I was thinkin about gettin a set of headers, but buyin a brand new set of 351 C headers is a little too rich for my blood, and there's no guarantee they will clear my transfer case. I was gonna buy a set of 351 M headers for 75$, I know they'll bolt up , but again i'm not too sure about the clearance aspect. I'd love to have a set of headers....

What type of gearbox do you have? I am inclined to think that extractors should clear most F100 gearboxes, but I'm not sure.

As far as I know 351M's are 1" higher than 351C's, so I guess everything would be the same except the 351M extractors would hang about 1" lower on a 351C. That may cause problems, again I'm not sure.

Ford claimed 250hp from the early 351C 2v engines, but testing has shown that the figure was more like 210hp at the flywheel. Upgrading to a stock 2v 4bbl intake (Aussie only part sorry, but similar to the edelbrock 2v 4bbl intake) along with a 600 holley will give you around 25hp, without changing anything else! I got these figures from an old mag where a completely stock 2v motor had tests done to see what would work best. Whatever you do, DON'T put a 4bbl carb on your 2bbl intake with an adaptor plate, that was shown to do practically nothing at all.
