Hello, Dose anyone know much about the Ford Cyl heads.
I have a set of 302 cyl heads from a 69 bronco.
Casting number C9TE-C
I got these heads for free and was wondering what kind of performance can i get out of them or should i just keep looking for something like the GT-40 heads?
I only ask because these where given to me.
I have a '89 roller block that i'm looking to build around 350hp or so.
Just looking at my options. Cheaper is always better if i can get the performance i want.

Opinions???

 

C9TE's are run of the mill 302 heads. Nothing special about em. They can be Hi-po's depending on how much money you put into them.

I will look for some newer gt40's then.

 

GT40's with a porting job will get you the numbers you want, thought a similar porting job on the C9 heads would likely yield a bit more HP than the untouched GT40s.

 

How much dose a porting job run about? and possible putting over sized valves in?

 

By the time you have those C9TE heads on a par with GT40's, you'll have more money in em.
