Have no fear...in my post...that got longer than I intended...
I said the rejects wording would NOT be on the FINAL design...it was just a filler spot where sponsors may eventually go...those that supply rally goodies etc...
So have no fear...it will NOT be there!...I don't like it either...our shirt designer took some liberties with the sample and had some twisted fun...that's all.

I know this shirt is somewhat different than some of the samples that we have been circulating. The reasoning is as follows. We wanted to strive for a 'common' look for ALL at the rally. From the BACK...all will be EXACT no matter what version you have. From the front...the basic layout is very very similar...so from a distance...all versions will look the same...it won't be until someone gets close that it is apparent that they aren't exact. However the goal was to show UNITY for ALL rally goers...not a particular easy task mind you...
We believe these shirts accomplish that goal of UNITY very nicely and we hope you agree.
One of the designers has agreed to put up an internet order form on his SECURE website for all to order once we get agreement that these are the designs to go forward with. Please know that there could be tweaks here and there to all designs...but a lot of work has gone into these and we hope you like them as is...obvious errors or complete dislike cannot be ignored though.
So please look at the designs and provide some feedback by Tuesday 5/27 at the latest so we can get the order forms up.
We will work with the printer to get a final cost number. The thinking is that we will print these on white T-Shirts ONLY (again for unity) and offered in crew and V necks. Given those two shirt options and the three shirt designs...that makes for quite a few options to keep straight in ordering.
The order forms will also include the actual shipping costs if someone chooses to have their shirts shipped versus getting them at the rally. We have someone that lives right by the printer and has agreed to transport them to the rally. His thought is to tie the order forms to paypal thru the secure website.
Once we get the orders in...we can let the printer get busy!
Okay enough lead in...There is the PSD, V10 and Excursion specific versions...Hopefully you will enjoy the designs and order varied versions (Ex and V10) or (Ex and PSD) etc...I know I will!
Excursion Themed Front:
PSD Themed Front:
V10 Themed Front:
COMMON BACK:
Our 'goal' is to provide ONE price for all designs and crew or V necks up to the size XL (I believe)...additional costs will be incurred and passed on for sizes larger than that but they are available. Stay tuned for final pricing information. There will also be kids sizes available.
PLEASE let us know how you like the designs.
Many THANKS to those that helped make this task close...coordination of an effort like this is never easy for a bunch of volunteers...but we got there!
Time for the rally is getting near...so folks that are STILL ON THE FENCE...BOOK NOW!!!...or as we say...
"Be There or Wonder!"
FWIW...ANYONE can order shirts and have them shipped...you really don't have to attend the rally...but we'd LOVE to have you all there!
Joe.

WTF? Even if you had the time and money, you would travel 5,000 miles for this event?
Yeah, I would.
It's not the destination that makes a trip like that fun (although the destination is one reason) but rather, it's the journey getting there and back that would be fun to do.
Load up the wife and two dogs, drop two C-notes to fill the Excursion (diesel just went over $5 bucks a gallon here), hook up the Wildwood TT and head east!

You've actually defined the reason I asked. $200 isn't going to move you, the family, Excursion, and travel trailer
a distance of 5,000 miles. At 15 miles a gallon while towing, you're looking at $1,700 or more in fuel alone.

VA,
I leave June 6th on a 4000 mile trip. I'll burn between 400 (10mpg) and 500 (8mpg) gallons of 87 octane. I'm budgeting for the 500 gallons at $4 per gallon (my economic stimulus check at work!).
My family will see Sedona and Flagstaff Az, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion National park, Arches National Park and Denver area (Colorado Springs, Estes Park, Mint, etc).
Sure the gas alone will run $2,000...BUT how can a family of four fly, rent a car, pay for gas in the rental, pay $100 or more per night for hotel rooms, PLUS eat out EACH AND EVERY MEAL for close to what the trip will cost me...SURE I've got some (okay a bunch) invested in the Ex and TT...but I've also taken multiple family vacations per year seeing places I've only dreamed about growing up...the memories for my family are more than worth the cost of admission for these trips...granted I know I am VERY FORTUNATE to be able to do this...
The Gatlinburg galla will be a near 1000 mile round trip venture for me as well...no where near what Stewart would have to face...but getting together with a bunch of Ford Freaks...well that only happens every so often...
Would I pull 5000 miles for an Ex rally?...well...if I could work it into a longer trip...sure I would...afterall...my 4000 mile journey in a little over a week doens't come cheap...my kids are only with me for so many years...We'll do without some other items of less importance for us...priorities...again thankfully the necessities in our life are covered unlike some families in today's economy with the ridiculous fuel costs that we all face!

Sure. That's why I qualified my post with, "If I had the time and money..."
I know a trip like this would be very expensive. Hence the money aspect of my lament.
I also know I wouldn't do a trip like this, without taking in other sites along the way. Which of course makes the trip longer (the time aspect) but it also makes it even more expensive.
Maybe I just shoulda said, I wish I were rich! LOL!
With the following excerpt, Joe sums it up really well...

Yeah. If I had the time, and I could afford a trip across the US pulling my trailer, I'd certainy attend this event.
Like I posted above, this event would be just one chapter in the book of memories a trip like this would write.

Oh yeah, for all you guys and gals lucky enough to be able to go, do the rest of us Excursion owners who post here regularly a favor. Take a moment one night during your festivities and have a toast of your favorite beverage on us.
A lot of us sure wish we could go.

When this subject first came up, I had seriously thought about going. It's not that far from me. But them along came $4.00 a gallon fuel. It would be 750 miles round trip for me. Based on 13 mpg this calculates to about $250 in fuel.
Hey, wait a minute, this isn't too bad, eh? Maybe I might rethink this thing!
When I used to ride my RoadKing...I found that if I tried to live my life based on weather predictions...and if you were afraid to ride on less than perfectly forecasted days...you would NEVER RIDE...so...I chose to not live my life based on things out of my control...gasoline prices are out of my control...the ONLY thing I can control is how fast I drive which directly relates to how much I BURN...my new philosophy is to simply slow down and try and save some fuel where I can...
Because I choose to pull a home on wheels...I MUST drive this V10...simple...for me it is not about driving an Ex...it is about driving the BEST TOW VEHICLE I could find for MY FAMILY...
Justifying decisions in life simply defeats enjoying life...
Enough philosophy from Joe...sorry...
joe.

That's better than the $3,000 I would have to budget for, just for fuel, for a trip back east.
