4 nice trucks in lasvegas picapart!
i was just there and saw 4 61-66 trucks all in decent shape. a good rust free cab or two, decent styleside bed or two, and some good doors, inner fenders. for enough money i could have a cab pulled and saved for pick up if anybody really needs one. i just thought what a waste of classic fords! i saw good cab mounts, no rust holes no dents in cab (that i saw at a glance good roof, floor.) excellent for someone with a rust bucket that wants to restore-save thousands in body work. i spied some good defroster vents also. although i saw some minor jerryrigged dashes, but is minor.

Yes, I was out there too (I think I might have met you). It was heartbreaking! They all had good rust free beds, doors, etc. that got messed up by being moved around with a fork lift. I got a hood and front fender, Auto trans carb, along with a set of perfect side trim all for $150.00.
Two of the core supports are good. I just saw a quarter size hole in them below the right headlight where all the dirt gathers. Both of the other core supports were already gone.
These yards are not junkyards, they are recycling yards. The vehicles only stay for 30 days and then off to the crusher. The parts sales are a lucrative sideline for the recycling.
They are all custom cabs. 2 65's and 2 66's. 2 with complete intact factory automatics! One auto was behind a 6 (C4) and the other behind a 352 (Cruiso). The Cruiso steering column was complete last Sunday. The other one had the top taken apart.
I got some of the small stuff.
These were in the annex yard off of Sunset Road for about 5 years. The guy that ran that yard had put them aside because they were in perfect condition. I thought he was going to seel them whole, not part them.
That yard shut down last month and all the inventory was put in the N Las Vegas yard. Take a walk into the car lines and there are a couple mid-60's Fords out there as well.
It was major depressing!

i feel like i should go and pull the cabs even though i dont yet have one of these, but i dont have the place to store them long term. the truck from junkyard wars on discovery channel ended up in a yard a year ago, someone took the fenders off of it. it was a 66 i think. you live in vegas 1966mercury?

if either of you get a chance...could ya go see if the 65-6 cabs have a good firewall insulation pad....if the dash isnt hacked up or the floor...sounds like a good score too...if you can get pics I bet others aside from me would love to see pics...
I so dislike seeing a good rust free truck going to waste...makes me cry...no respect if ya ask me...
Thanks, cs65
or a number for the yard too...
