79 460 to a 89 overdrive tranny

I have an overdrive transmission from a 89 pickup with a 460 EFI. I know the trans is cumputer controlled but I am wondering if there is a kit out there to make this trans work on my 460 in my 79 F150, I don't want to put in the EFI 460 I have but want the 4 spd auto. At a $1.20/litre or $5.40 a gallon I need all the help I can get. Anyone have any Ideas for this.??

Sound like the gear vendors unit might be cheaper and a lot less headache in the long run. Usually those stand alone electronic trans. controllers are expensive.

I have thought about that also, but I think I would prefer the trans swap, I'm hate doing thimgs the easy way. The gear vendor is a good set up though and is well proven. I have lots of time to think about it, truck is down to 2 X members and the rails waiting to get blasted.

Yes, Eastern Canada, and with gas being my next biggest expense after the mortgage , $5.40 a Gallon sucks. Filling my 06 from empy is over the $150.00 mark now. I'm also a big snowmobiler and now they both cost over $40.00 to gas up. I'm gonne start turning tricks down at the old ladies home to off-set the cost of gas.

Thanks for the tup on Bauman elctronic's guys, never heard of them till now.
