Here is my "idea." My dads 50th bday is in May. Last summer he purchased a running 100% solid 2 door Galaxie. I think that it has a 390 in it but I am not for sure. He bought it because he had a 67 FAIRLANE in high school but didnt know where one was at and SETTLED for a 67 Galaxie as a fixer uper. I have a slight problem with this...if he wants a 67 fairlane, search for one and dont buy anything unless its what you want!
My idea of a birthday present is to find a solid fairlane with a title. (a good project) and work a deal either trading his Galaxie (with his permission of course) for a fairlane or finding one for a reasonable price.
You guys are ford guys and I just thought that I would throw that out there for some ideas. Thanks for the help.

I thought I saw a Fairlane on Craigslist in the past month... can't remember which one, but it could have been Omaha or Sioux City.
Is the Galaxie pretty decent? I've thought about finding one of those some day. My parents had one when I was a kid, they bought it brand new. My dad finally parted with it in the late 70's since the frame was completely rotted away.
I have a good friend that has a 1966 Fairlane with a 289 he would sell. Problem is he wouldn't take less than $11,000. This is a nice car. He bought it from some old lady that always kept it in a garage. No rust, no dents, some chipped paint. It is a rose color. Interior is in Great shape. Overpriced but would take very little work.
Yep, $11,000 is a bit much for me..thanks anyways, I would prefer a 67 since thats what he had, and i am not going to settle for less like he did...yeah his galaxie is REALLY nice, I believe that its all there and runs, just needs a good update/tune up. Its white, i will try to sneak over there and take pics of it with out him knowing..lol

Have you checked Ebay Anthony? I haven't checked it lately, but I have seen some reasonably priced Fairlanes in there. I'm kind of looking for one also, but I need to decide if I want a fairlane, or to keep my 67 F100. My wife won't go for both!! If I see anything, I'll let you know.
Come On Pat - Work the program! Whats up with the wife won't let you have both??? When I bought my 69 she didn't find out about it until I let it slip over the phone to a friend of mine when she was in ear shot. Then when I told her that "I didn't take any money out of the checking or savings for it" she wanted to know "How long I had been stashing money behind her back?" Sometimes those wives are a little to sharp! Felt like I was in the holding sell in a murder investigation! Whewwwwwwwww am I glad thats over! Of course I started the entire game again with the 56 - Of course I bought her a Caddy STS a couple of years ago which tipped the scale in her favor by quite a bit so she has been a little more forgiving of me
Well, having bought my '06 Super Duty a few years back, and with her still driving her 2000 Expedition, I think she'd be just a tad upset if I bought another car right now!! And she is way too sharp, she would notice!! I'd work the program, but she wrote it!!!
