rust on trucks on east coast
#17
Have used Cosmoline in the past to stop rust on other vehicles from getting worse on the frame and on the backside of sheet metal but it's hard to find nowadays. Have just sent away for some fizzy cans of "waterproof" grease to pickle my 350. We'll see how that works.
Truck was used for plowing/sanding before I got it and the rust is fairly advanced but fortunately there's still plenty of meat left and the cab's rust-free. Oil pan is pretty flaky but no leaks yet. Salt on the roads was bad enough but now that the state (CT) has switched over to calcium chloride, rust may get a whole lot worse a whole lot faster.
