4.6 towing power mods

I have a 97' Expedition with the 4.6l w/ dual exhaust and k&n filter. I tow a 20' boat occasionally and was looking gain some extra power. What would the best route to gain the towing power im looking for?

Get a tuner. You can get one with 3 pre-loaded tunes so you can choose different octanes. They can load a custom tune in that is also tailored for the towing. Fill up with 93 and tow away. You've removed the major factory restrictions already. I'd throw in a good trans cooler for the extra load. cheap insurance against failure.

thanks for responding. what tuner would you recommend for the 4.6? Also would a cold air intake help also??

YW. I took a guy's advice and just modified my air box by drilling several 1 inch holes with a wood boring bit. There's a lot more air going into the low restriction filter. I changer the exhaust also. I can't say if one is better thn the other as they all reduce the factory restriction they just sound different. I have the SCT Livewire for it's versatility but I've only seen the Jet brand not liked. I've had fantastic customer service from 5 star tuning.
