Has anyone heard?
I was talking to the owner of one of the muffler shops here in Kingman today. We got on to the subject of Smog. He told me that he has heard that ALL of Arizona will require SMOG CHECKS as of 2010.
Has anyone else heard anything about this? Or does anyone have any input on this subject?

Your in a smog County can you answer this. Great question I would like to know. I have talked to others in the auto business here they haven't heard anything. I have a friend that works as a mechanic for the City and he hasn't heard anything either. That would be pretty quick to implement less than two years without any major announcement from the State.

OK this is what I would know about it, Any car or truck year 66 or older is exempt from Emissions testing. Thats why I have the trucks I do! I'm not sure about any outher exemptions to the rule But for some reason I think there is more ways to get out of the testing. I'll see what I can dig up and get back to ya.

Hey Bill, Thanks for the info. I guess if I ever move to AZ, I won't have to worry about emissions testing on my '73, as long as I have it registered as a collector vehicle. It's currently registered as an antique/classic vehicle here in IL, but they don't do emissions tests here so that isn't an issue.
