2009 F-150 Dates?

In another thread, ffdemoss posted:

Order bank opens 5/16/08 with Job 1 (start of production) of 7/23/08

This is great info. I need to get another truck and am vacillating between getting a leftover 2007 or ordering a 2009. However, the deciding factor will be pricing. Does anyone have a firm date when the 2009 pricing will be available?

Thanks in advance,

Hank Murphy

I have heard that too but I'll believe it when I see it.

went o my local Ford dealer and I must say that the shelves are looking pretty bare right now. now many 07s or 08 F-150s on the lot. wonder if they are just planning on getting a crap load of the new trucks.

If that's the case, then don't be too surprised to discover that Ford has narrowed the gap between dealer cost and dealer invoice. Bottom line is, 10% less negotiating room for us old fashioned car buyers. Once the dealers find themselves giving up thier "hold back" money to make a sale, they'll have to create a new cache' of fees. Here in Va, and I'm sure in many other places, they charge a dealer processing fee. It typically runs $350-$450. There's no way around it. Pure profit for the dealers. The time may come when buying a new car will become as exhiliarating as buying a pair of shoes.

I'm thinking that the best way to get a newer truck is to buy a year or two old from a private sale. .

I will stick with buying a new one. Through the company I work for we get the Xplan pricing from Ford and they also have a deal that we can not be charged dealer fee's, its a great deal. Plus my family has been good friends with the fleet manager of one of the local Ford dealer's.

Roger that. So it's either 5/16/08 or end of July?

This is what I have gotten from anoter thread:

Here's the latest start-up dates for the 2009 F-150:

05/16/2008 2009 Unscheduled Order Bank Opens
06/12/2008 2009 Model Year Scheduling Begins
07/23/2008 2009 Model Year Job #1 (Dearborn)
08/13/2008 2009 Model Year Job #1 (Kansas City)

The official order guides are usually released to Dealers on or about the time the USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) opens.

How many hours does it take to produce a F-150 and how long do these units sit in the holding yards before they're "railed" out to the respective dealers?
