Hey guys got my tank back and its good and clean. Fresh metal in there. I am looking around here in SFV ca for a place to pick up some por15 or something similar to seal the tank. Looks like I may have to order online but that sucks cause I wanted to run my truck this weekend. Also I dont have the mesh sock that goes in my tank on the sending unit. Do I need these? Not sure it that even goes on the sending unit or where it goes but I for sure dont have one. Thoughts?

This thread is 5 years old. Post before yours was typed 3/02/2008. Shoulda typed a new thread...and mentioned which tank you're referring to.

Which tank did you have cleaned? If it's the in-cab tank, there is no sock, because there is no pickup tube made as part of the fuel tank sending unit to attach it to.

D1AZ-9A011-A .. Plastic Meshed Filter Screen (sock) 3/8" I.D. / Slips onto end of the fuel tank sending unit pickup tube / Available from Ford/autoparts stores.

1967/72 F100/350 with optional auxillary fuel tanks / 1964/79: Econoline & ALL FoMoCo Passenger Cars except Pinto/Bobcat/Maverick/Comet / 1966/79 Bronco / 1973/79 F100/350 except in-cab fuel tank.

Call Bo at Mustang Service Center in NoHo (818-765-9266), ask if has this screen (if you need it) and if he knows of anyone in the Valley that has Por-15.

If Bo doesn't know, call Engler Bros Auto Parts in Santa Monica, ask same questions.

My fault, typed the last 3 digits wrong (correct: 818-765-9266). You would think I would know the number by now.

It was Valley Ford Obsolete's for over 20 years, then when Bo bought them out, he was able to retain the same number.

I've known Bo since 1975, he and I were partsguys at the same dealership in WLA
