if i dont get mine run off the pto or something soon im goin with the air zienth's there much better than viairs. both my thomas are down right now but i cant complain ive had them on there for almost 10years.

that bracket kit uses the sanden compressor like i was talkin about above it sucks to have a inlet oiler and a coalesing filter on the other end so by the time you spend $300 on the compressor your looking at another $300+ by the time you get oilers, filters, regulator, pressure switches.......you could just get a big oasis and have 10cfm at 100% dc. im really lookin at what i can do with a larger inverter and ac compressor if engine drive dosnt work.

oh year the ih t444e uses a differnt front cover which makes the brake compressor run off the cam gear and theres no vac pump there also.

fishman id like to see that also. im still really thinkin about runnin the york off the pto. im just wondering about space down there. too many projects and still just not enough time. i still havent been able to finish the renovation on the front suspension of my truck.

How much air pressure are you guys planning to put into a tank to run air tools, etc on?

For my air horns I'm planning on using a 7LB propane bottle. I talked with my supplyer and he said that the tanks are good for more than 3oo#'s.

i want 150psi. thats about the limit for the regulators and filters i have. and the train horns make you almost crap in the cab at 150. then i will regulate down to 100psi to send to the suspension and for tools. my nerf bars hold 8gallons of air, im gonna find some where to work some more tanks in somewhere.....

fish- do ya know off hand what the york wieghs?

My biggest problem is where to mount the hornes. I really don't want to mount them on the outside of the truck.

Any suggestions??

I ran 120lbs and was happy with that. i run a 2.5 gallon tank and it works pretty good. my york can keep up if i turn on the high idle even when using an impact. before i put my IC on i used it all the time.

in fact i helped one older gentleman on the side of the road with a flat tire. i impacted his old tire off which he couldnt get over, then his spare was flat which i pumped up. he told me i was "one of the coolest young fellas out there" lol. felt pretty good. then i let him hit my horn and he got all giddy!

I did not want mine on the outside for everyone to see either. i acutually mounted mine on the front core support pointed down. trust me, it is loud enough and is heard no matter which direction it points.

mine are right behind the transfer case hangin from that xmember thats just infront of the fuel tank, you can just see the edge of the lower bell. on the 2x4 you would probably be able to put them in the same place maybe just at some shielding infront of it to keep the rocks from hittin them.

i still wanna get one 8" hid put it in the center of my grill of my truck

i built the nerf bars out of 2" .120 wall tubing. i dont have any pics right now ill have the pics up on thoose when i get the pics up on the suspension when im all done. the nerf bars connect back to the frame in 4 spots and run the lenth of the frame with steps with flat spots cut out of them. and from my calculations of how much tubing there is there just spy of 8 gallons.

If you are looking for a spot to tuck a air tank I've always thought the space inbetween the the outer and inner skin of the box forward of the wheels. I wish they still put tool boxes there lik in the mid 70s

i've always heard 250 but i dont doubt brad has had one higher. no way would i ever go 200psi much less any higher. 120-150 is really all i need.

nerf bars as tanks.... very cool idea!
