Also has Amy Smart in it, another reason to see it and reminds me of another thread.....

This is a no brainer for me.....Sorry but it`s not a Ford truck.
The Bullitt Mustang from the 1968 Movie: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ideoid=2341549
Or Eleanore from Gone In 60 Seconds: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ideoid=8733544

Watch one of the scenes where the Mustang comes over the hill airborne and lands with a thud on all fours. Look closely underneath = parts are flying off!
Where are they now? No one knows, and back then, no one thought to record the VIN numbers, so finding one or both is prolly impossible.
The CA black license plates used on the car(s) was a phoney-baloney number...not traceable.
From research, and asking a coupla movie ppl, I believe the cars were supplied by Ford from a San Francisco Ford dealership.
There are two possibles: S&C Ford or Billy Hughson Ford.
S&C doesn't have the info, and Hughson Ford is long gone.
Billy Hughson was, btw...the worlds first Ford dealer. No kidding!
He met Henry Ford at a restaurant in Dearborn in 1904 and signed an exclusive contract on the back of a menu (!) which gave him total distribution rights for CA, OR and WA. At one time, every Ford dealer in those states was a Hughson store.
There are around 20 original buildings left in CA with Ford dealers still in them, that were original Hughson dealerships.
There's more to the history of FoMoCo than just the vehicles.

Rumor, according to some of the Mustang monthly magazine publications, has it that one Bullitt Mustang is tucked away, it`s owner wishes to remain anonymous.....
Rumor also has it that Steve McQueen tried to purchase it years ago before he died, he was turned down.
Officially nothing has ever been confirmed that I`m aware of.

However, if it does exist...
It's prolly in the same garage that houses James Deans wrecked Porsche.
That car was stolen off a trailer in 1955 hauling it to a yard, and it hasn't been seen since.
I wonder if anyone saved the remains of Donald Turnipseeds 1950 Ford?
That was the driver and car that ran a Yield sign and totaled the Porsche, killing Dean in the process.
Deans last words, spoken to his friend and mechanic who survived the accident:
"I think he sees us and will stop."

George Barris made some mods, mainly removing the plexiglas roof, repainting the car and adding all those gizmos.
But the actual design is still the original.
Revell used to sell a 1/25 scale plastic model...of the Lincoln Futura.
Try finding one a those original kits today.
