5.4 swap into a 77 F-350

I have a 77 F350 2wd dual wheel truck with a 330 FE.I just got in a 2004 econoline van with a 5.4/auto.
Has anyone swapped a mod motor into a 73-79 2wd,mainly worried about the oilpan fit with the twin ibeam crossmember.Also is there an aftermarket wiring harness available for a 5.4?

I did see an article on here where a person swapped a 5.4 into a 78-79 Bronco, and it fit with some frame clearance cutting. As for wiring, he used the donor vehicles wiring and computer which may be your best bet since you have a donor vehicle.

That is a great job on the bronco.I was hoping to find someone who had done a swap into a 2wd truck.

You wont have the room that a 4X4 can offer but clearance of the engine oil pan isn't the tight spot. I found the transmission clearance a big problem. Fuel tank & floor brace. I had to put My 6.9 at just the right height to miss the steering box to. Not a big step for any builder.

I have installed a mod motor in my 79 F100, I have a 4.6 liter 32v DOHC Lincoln engine.
I am reusing the entire wiring harness with computer. I have some pictures in my gallery, it is SLOWly coming together. My motor mount brackets are tubular steel with gussets welded in for additional strength and the factory 79 F100 tranny mount was reused with a redrilled tranny crossmember.
Headers are street rod style from Sanderson. I am doing the math to install the IRS from the Mark 8 as well.

Looks like it comming along nicely!I will be using the factory wiring harness and computer.I see you changed the front suspension,did you have problems fitting the engine with the original crossmember and steering box?

I purchased a complete hub to hub IFS kit from Fatmans Fabrication, the original crossmember was replaced with the one from the kit and the steering is rack and pinion from a mustang II which also came with the kit.
The new crossmember sets approx 3-4" off the ground with the air out of the bags.
