302 to 351

I have a 92 F-150 4x4 with a 302 E40d. I would like to put in a 351W, will it bolt to the trans with the stock 351 bellhousing and 302 motor mounts ? I'm not sure what trans was bolted to the 351 other than it was an automatic.
Also, will an upper efi 302 intake bolt to the stock 351 lower section?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

The 5.8 will bolt to the tranny and engine mounts fine. The upper and lower intake, distributor, and fuel rail are unique to the 5.8 and you can't use the 5.0 versions. Also make absolutely sure you have the correct flexplate for the 5.8/E4OD combo or tranny damage is guaranteed. The 5.8 is wider and taller than the 5.0, so the stock Y pipe will have to be widened. The EGR also connects to the passenger side manifold on the 5.8 so you need this manifold, the 5.0 manifold will work on the drivers side of the 5.8. Lastly you'll need a 5.8/E4OD computer.

302 to 351W

Thanks for the info-reply. I'm trying to gather all the info B-4 I start and hopefully will cruise thru w/no probs. The engine is built to about 350 hp and is set up w/ a dual plane Weiand a 650 Holly and a low to mid range Comp cam. I'm thinking of converting it to F.I. and am considering my options, not sure just yet. I have the S.S Ford headers on my 302 now and will be using them on the conversion also. I do know i'll need a trans controller if I stay with the Holly.
Thanks again

The cam could present another issue. The SD efi system requires a cam with at least 114 degrees lobe seperatrion angle or the vacuum will be too unstable for it to maintain control of the motor.

And if the motor is truely capable of 350hp then you'll need at least 30lb injectors, though 24's be fine if it's closer to 300hp. That means you need a computer calibrated for these bigger injectors, which at the very least will mean you should use a MAF computer and have a chip burned with the correct parameters.

The upside is that if you use a MAF computer the existing cam will likely work fine.

A 19 ln injector should support 350 fwhp fine as long as its N/a I was making that much on a 19 lb injector.

I was looking to maybe find a 351 out of the same model truck as mine and just transplant it right in. Its a 90 ford f150 4x4 speed density. Are there any issues doing this with the same computer? ITs a 5 speed manual.

You may be able to find a local speed shop that can help you with the computer.
