running hydroboost AND hydraulic steering

How do i run superduty hydroboost and hydraulic steering off of one power steering pump?
Do i use the superduty's pump, lines, hydroboost, etc. as a system, or keep the old design pump and have custom lines made?
thankyou in advance for any suggestions.

no, just get a pump that was made for hydroboost.....it will have two outs, one to the hydroboost and one to the gear....

i would use a sag pump b/c i know for a fact it can take a beating! basically instead of running the pressure line straight from the pump to the steering gearbox you will run the pressure line up to the HB unit. then you will run another pressure line from the HB unit down to the pressure port of the gear box. make darn sure (very important!) to run a good sized fluid cooler on the low pressure side. i went to a junk yard and for $10 bought an auto tranny cooler (which measures like 14" x 10") that has kept the fluid very cool. in fact i am keeping that cooler for my full hydro setup

there are 2 RETURN ports on the box, but just one pressure port. and the return is no big deal, i know several guys running HB/HA with their stock pump and a t-fitting in the return hose for both the steering and the HB unit. heck i have also seen some folks take their pump (saginaw with a metal res) and make their own dual return. just drill a hole, put in the desired fitting and solder it in!

no. you can find them on 79 and older ford trucks, broncos, and vans as well as 70's models chevy vans.

here are some examples...

could you use a regular sag pump and just "T" off the return to put the tank?

I'm not sure on the "t", but I've seen guys take a piece of tubing the same size as the outside of the filler/dipstick and throw a hose clamp on it with a cap on top of that, and just make it as long as needed. Ghetto, but if it was done right could look ok/good and work.
