I got the doors fixed and a new air filter. Everything was done fast. I think a new air filter at 7900 miles is a bit early when we are talking about a $32 air filter. The Titan filters were only $12. Oh well. I have seen no gas milage increase witha claen filiter but I have to run her tuesday so we will see.

Yeah, I paid $18.83 for mine. The after market filters should be getting cheaper soon.

When I took my 08' in for service, I pointed out my mushy brake issue and gave him a copy of the OP's work. Even though the NSTA has issued the paperwork back to Ford, as of 1 week ago, there was no recall on the brakes by Ford in the Ford system. The service manager showed me any/all recalls on the 08's, and the only ones that were there were the door, and airbag. You'll note on the the messages, in the 'notes' section, the brakes were the only one to not have "Ford Recall No.xxxxx".

Did they offer any advice or a solution to fix the mushy brakes?

I have to pump mine to bring the pedal up. It is actually difficult to stop smoothly because the pedal goes halfway to the floor on the first push and is right to the top on subsequent pressure. It is difficult to drive.

Their comment to me was 'it's normal' and of course I said it's not. It was Friday and from what I can see above w/ the NHSTA, it'll be recalled. But exactly what you experience is what I've got. Spot on.

My spring on the driver side door latch broke before the recall and was fixed by the dealer. They only fixed the one door though and now I have to get it back in for the others. I guess I was one of the reasons for the recall...

My brakes are doing the exact same thing, I have taken it in 3 times and of course nothing is wrong with it or its normal “No offence” but I’m glad someone else is having this problem. I thought it was me. I will be watching this post I have a 2008 Eddie Bauer Xpy 3600 miles with a mushy brake pedal.
