The left rear panel (drivers) side with the gas doors is stuffed in, Damn! No one makes a reporduction left side. Too bad, guess it will just have to rot where it is!

Don't know, In Vermont.
It's tough to find any Early Bronco let alone a '77, The ones on "U-Pay" are way over priced, yet as long as there's buyers, they will stay high.

If the price is right, it would be worth buying for the parts.

How much are you wanting to spend on a 77? I know where there is a REALLY NICE one for sale.

All you need to fix that us a jigsaw, or run the earlier filler necks. As long as the fuel door(s) are there and the area for the filler necks and filler necks are there, don't worry.

You cut them off the later quarter... Cut a hole and tack the them from behind onto the quarter where the hole is. Job Done.

I guess price is dictated by condition, wont' pay 7K for a rustbucket, so its tough to put a price "sigh unseen"

This one isn't a rust bucket at all. It was built right and it drives better than most new cars. But it is probably more than most want to spend. But it is a high quality Bronco. I have no ties to it. I know the guy selling it and I've had the chance to drive it, but thats it.

play400 is new and has a neutral reputation at this point.
Last Bronco we did we made the right lower side and eliminated that caulked seam at the same time. It was my 77 and I just cut the doors out of the old panel and welded them in the new panel.

The clueless (me) need a clue. Is the 77 gas door different than the later ones? I've never noticed. These are the info tidbits that I like to tuck away for reference.

Really?? Aaahh...wait a minute for dormant brain cells to wake up... 78-79 had flush mount gas caps?? Maybe?? I honestly don't remember. I don't deal with many Broncos of that era these days, but I like to be aware of differences like that in case I need to know. I deal with many "vintage" vehicles these days, and those Broncos are getting into that category.

Nope, no "chicken" with your -9 , unless you want a modern reenactment of "The Crash at Crush". There's no veering off at the last second, It could be kinda cool! My sig is aimed at big SUV owners that think they're the biggest and baddest thing on wheels. There's something a bit bigger and badder than they are.
There's no arguement against a Geep-9, 'cept I think my E-8 is prettier.

What railroad are you with? Our former parent railroad, the WLE, has a couple of GP-9s in regular service.

77 is the last year of the first generation Bronco 66-77. 78-79 body style looks like the 73-79 full size pickups.

And if you two are going to be playing choo choo chicken, let me know when and where. I want to watch.

My big mistake Jason. I thought the 77 was the "newer" Bronco. I knew 76 and back was the "original" style.
What is different with the gas door on the 77 from the earlier Bronco?

Here's some famous video of a planned 1913 game of "choo choo chicken" (both were unoccupied): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUc3wd4It8g&feature=related
Total carnage.
I don't think it's ever been filmed with 2 diesels, but a recent "oops" came real close on the SP:

When 2 things try to occupy the same space at the same time, bad things and loud noises happen! Physics can be so cool!

This is what the 76 and older looks like with exposed filler necks. A 77 has the fuel doors (same as a 77 on pickup) roughly in the same location as the necks as the 76 older.

Thanks for the video links. They were great.

Thanks Jason, I just learned something. I've obviously never seen a 77 Bronco up close. Every "early" Bronco I've ever seen had the exposed fuel cap(s). I can't even picture what the "fuel doors" would look like on a 77. That's a "tidbit" that I will certainly file away for future reference.
