Man! So many good looking trucks in this thread! These are hands down, in my opinion, the best looking 4x4 trucks Ford ever made!

Awesome 78, makes me want to go back to a 78 singlecab, I dropped a 76 supercab on my 78 chassis, now I want to go back...maybe someone will trade me...I'm at least putting a 78-9 grill with round lights like it had before.

These pictures are at full bump. Nothing special about the rear shaft, the front is going to have to be a two piece just to clear the block, and the oil filter is going to have to be relocated. This is around where ride height will be

Nice crawler thirteen.
Great idea.
If you have pics of your build you should start a thread. I'm sure we would all like to see what/how you did things.

Hmmm, This thread is just about four years old.

Here's mine in order......

The first one that started it all.....

Earthquake I

The one I built for wife number one.......

One I bought but quickly sold. It wasn't what I wanted.

....and finally my current daily driver. ...I just love this truck.

I bought it and had it trailed home because it was sitting for a few years. The truck was solid, but it had a 400M in it. (which I hate anyway) After I got it running, I drove to the next town over to go to the store. The rods were hammering by the time I got back. Somebody did a "engine rebuild in a can" oil change on it. It only rattled when it was hot. It also needed four new tires. The bed had great quarters, but inside the bed was rotted bad. It had no tailgate. Maybe I should have kept it, but the interior was rough too. I just didn't get a good vibe on the truck.

My new truck was a MUCH better jumping off point. Even with all the work I ended up doing to it. I'm funny like that. It's one thing if I WANT to do work on a truck. It's another thing all together to HAVE to do work on a truck.
