I have always been sort of curious to why the rubber step on the stepside was more towards the hinge of the door and no more towards where you were actually stepping. I mean its not horrible, I still am able to get my foot on their just fine, but did the guy who installed these for me put them on the wrong side of the truck. Like if that side steps went on the other side of the truck, wouldnt that rubber cleat be more towards the where it should be?

You need to get a hobby or something. Has it been a long winter up there? Just kidding. The rubber does seem to be a bit too far forward. I don't know if you can install a passenger side on the drivers side or not because I don't have them, but that would be my guess as to what happened.

lol not anymore, if there was my OCD probably found them and removed them months ago, but I will just let this one go, no point in undoing what has already been done.

It looks right to me. You want the step to be forward of the seat, the furthest back any manufacture I have installed was Carr and the wanted you mount the 10" step so that the middle is inline with the front of the seat.
If you watch how most use them, your left steps on the pad, the right comes behind the left and into the cab. If the left foot was back, even with the seat you couldn't get your right foot behind, you would have to spin around in circles to sit down.
haha man yeah your so right, that makes more sense now, i didnt even think of that, but now that i am, thats exactly how i get in, nice observation thank u

You welcome and don't feel bad. My first set I had to install I thought the same way. The two boards weren't marked, but the pads were offset when side by side. So I thought about it how I climb into a truck.
