True you can get an aftermarket liner at some dealers but you'll be able to get the Ford bed-liner at any dealer. Sure, the spray in bed-liner companies will survive --- but there is no doubt a loss of 100K - 300K customers per year will hurt them. I expect GM and Dodge to follow and offer this as well.

I have always wondered why all the manufacturer have not done this. A bed liner is the first mod of many trucks (including ours) and that money would just be back to them instead of a aftermarket company. It would have to be on par or better than line-X for it to be a hit though IMO.
Told them to throw in a bed-liner (spray-in) and will do the sale, no haggles brought it back next business day and diffinitely enhanced the truck and looks alot better then painted bed, first mod for sure, increases the value as well. oh and I got the Inyati spray bed-liner lifetime warranty as well. www.Inyati.com

They can cut the markup and chase business like trailer and equipment coating. As a consumer I'm fine with some downward pressure on their high markup business.
It might hurt it some but there is a lot of vehicles still out there without a liner.

The article mentions Nissan as the only other manufacturer to offer this. I wonder if Ford will got about it the same way that Nissan does. They bundle it with a bunch of other crap and call it a "package" so that they can charge you even more.
It might hurt the drop-in liner guys the most. About the only reason they exist is because it's a do-it-yourself product. If most truck start coming with factory spray-in there won't be much market for drop-in.
