i also have a 6.0 f-350 but its a 2005. what are the major problems or concerns with runnung svo if you start on diesel to warm the tank then switch to svo? dont the same priciples apply to a 6.0 then that of a 7.3 that has been successful on svo ( with respect to hp)?

Do not single tank with waste vegetable oil! You need a heated second tank to safely use WVO without killing your engine. To get some understanding of using grease for fuel, check out:

binuya is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
My understanding on the early 6.0 is that the injection system (mainly the injectors themselves) is quite a bit more sensitive than the tolerant 7.3. Personally, I wouldn't do the SVO route, but properly made bio would be no issue.

I might suggest going to 'biodiesel and svo forums' and do a search on the 6.0. There are some great well informed posts on the subjects of both SVO and bio.

I ran a full tank of svo with no problems. I know, eventually I would likely have problems. I do know of a guy here that filters the svo down to 4 microns and has over 100k with no issues. Maybe he's just lucky!I have not done a lot on this subject due to lack of $ to purchase the necessary stuff to process into bio. There is nowhere locally to purchase at the pump.
