Was on the 2008 F450 ambulance last night and I'm happy to report that after 1750 hours and 16850 hard, hard miles, all is well. This truck is so much better than anything before it and the engine is light years better than the 6.0.

Figured I'd chime in as I rarely drive it anymore. Those 04 F450s that I drive now at the other station don't hold a candle to the 2008 SD!

Oh and it's up to 6 MPG from it's previous high of 5.6 MPG

Lots of idling, lots of regen, lots of shifting, lots of time over 3 grand.

Nice, I was just looking at my hours. 1,100 with 52k miles on it or somewhere around there. I love the truck, I hate ford dealership service. I'm going to stick a Cat in there and never buy international engines again.

Congrats on the 08 - So far these engines are great. just a couple small problems. NOTHING like the 6.0 - No turbos, injectors, EGR's, headgaskets, etc. 6.4 is solid!

 

2nd oil leak ( have owned the truck since sep. 10th)

Total time in service 1 month. STILL LEAKING OIL from the same mother f-ing spot. So we're going to try this for the 3rd time

Ford service sucks and is incompetent, waste of my time trying to fix it with them. I want a reliable engine, not one that has to keep going in for f-ing oil leaks every couple of months. I know it's not internationals fault the service department is a bunch of idiots, but I can't afford to deal with their service.

 

If I remember my calculations that is only a average of 9.6 Mph so I bet it idles allot.
Great to hear they fixed allot of the troubles.
