2004 F-250 turning wheel noise

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">just got a 2004 F-250 XLT. 40,000 miles...
Question here.
When backing up and turning the wheel what is that horrible screeching noise.

does it happen only when you're turning the wheel?
where does it sound like its coming from?
is it a 4x4?

Yes it only happens when turning the wheel, Mainly when backing up and turning. Mainly sound like from under the hood. Yes a 4x4 XLT 2004 F-250
