IMO doing not so good look really bad!!

BTW for the rubber floor truck you can buy new carpet for under $200 or just get some nice floor mats to make your wife happy.
TJ, if you look at the photos I posted above those are the repainted truck. I can see white on the inside of the door jambs, so they at least did that much but whether or not it's a quality paint job is another thing. I know carpet kits can be had fairly cheap, but for whatever reason the wife is in total disgust that I'd even consider a truck with a RUBBER FLOOR! Oh the horror!

I just found this statement in a search:

" forgot to mention. This is a California truck, so it has larger, split shot injectors and different stock computer programming which result in a noticable power improvement over 49 state trucks."

Any truth to that?

more like probably the other way around, normaly califrorna vehicals have 10 time the emmisions crap wich gives them less power and i doubt they would put larger injectors stock in a cali truck if they did anything differnt with the injectors it would be the other way around

yep its true. Cali models have larger split shot injectors. When Banks make all their claims for HP on the OBS kits its all done using a 97 cali emissions truck. 49 state injectors are around 90cc per 1000 injections and cali models are 120cc per 1000. I think they have 10 or 15 hp more stock but with a properly programmed chip there is more potential in a cali emissions truck.

BTW the only differences between a 49 state and cali truck is fuel pressure regulator spring, injectors, programming, and pulse dampner on the fuel pump.

So bigger injectors and basically a pre-shimmed FPR on the Cali trucks? Very interesting... That might make the CA truck more enticing, but the repaint thing still raises a huge red flag for me.

the good thing about a california vehical is NO RUST. the paint wouldent bother me to much if your able to look at it in person, take a good look at the frame and make sure its not bent, check the back cab corners where the top of the box box meets the cab, if theres dents there run dont want away. check and make sure all the panels are properly aligned. take it for a test drive and run a car fax report on it. even if it was in a minor fender bender that dosent mean theres anything wrong with it. id rather buy a truck from cali that had been in a fender bender than buy a truck from michigain that has never even gotten bumped by an shopping cart

884x4broncoII- this truck is in the SF bay area, so rust is one of my biggest concerns. The other truck I'm looking at is an ID truck so rust is no issue. I saw the CARFAX on the ID truck (option #1) and it's clean. I'm debating spending the $ to CARFAX the CA truck, they only show 6 records which is quite a low number. Still split down the middle on this one, not sure which way I want to go as of yet. The CA truck would basically be a sight unseen purchase for me, but I've drove the ID truck already.

Well I spent the $ and ran the CARFAX on the CA truck- came back clean and as a 1 owner truck registered in Nevada. What's weird is the guy who owns it now lives in CA and has had it for a few years (?) Rust shouldn't be an issue since it's lived mostly in Nevada, but I'm curious why nothing shows up as it being registered in CA...

Do you have a phone number to call for the CA truck? if so I would call him and ask about the NV/CA thing. Email will give him opportunity to come up with a good story.
