PATS Module location?

The PATS module (Passive Anti Theft System) has failed on my 99 Ranger and I have purchased a replacement module from the dealer. I am unable to locate the module. The diagram from ALLDATA shows it on the passenger side up near the airbag but the diagram from the dealer shows it on the drivers side near the lower kick panel. I have searched both locations and cannot find it (I have the replacement module to compare to).

Does anyone know where this module is located? It is a 4.0L, AT, 4WD, 1999 Ranger Super Cab.

Thanks in advance for any help.

John

According to the manual
1. Remove the passenger side air bag module; refer to «Section 501-20B».
µ 2. Remove the passive anti-theft system (PATS) module and bracket.

1 Remove the bolts.

2 Disconnect the electrical connector.
