Welcome to FTE. Most members here run chips from DP tuners www.dptuner.com .I would not waste my money again on a programer . Programers are one size fits all were a chip is taylor made for your truck ,what you do with it and how you drive.

you should install guages pyrometer, boost, and trans temp
4" exhaust should be done with or without chip, the stock system is very restrictive
the stock intake isn't very good either
if you tow or go off road with or without chip I would recomend a trans cooler, not sure about 4x4 models but I found mine don't use a radiator cooler and a very small external cooler

See the above link, post #18. Kris has done a very specific write up on what, when and why to do some very basic mods. Sound advice when starting PMS. Barney

EDIT: Oh, and you probably want to think about a better intake, such as the 6637 (super easy & cheap intake mod!!), an exhaust (either a full 4" turbo-back system or simple muffler delete), and probably a set of gauges to make sure your engine is doing what it's supposed to and not exceeding extremes.

Even if you run DP tunes without the supporting mods to the truck, you'll increase the risk of doing some expensive damage to the truck.
Ford rated the engine HP for a reason. If you stray outside of the design without strengthening the design then something is likely to break.
For instance, if you run the chip at 80HP and tow something without gauges to let you know that the Exhaust gas temperature is getting too high, then you stand a very good chance of cracking a piston from getting overheated.
A 4" exhaust and an open air filter element will allow the engine to breath a lot better, and the EGT will come back down to managable levels with the chip.
There's more, you need to have a strong tranny cooler.
Not trying to discourage you from doing the mods, but more make you aware of the best way to do it and not end up with needing a AAA card on the side of the road 350 miles from home.
