my truck

Hi, I am new to this forum and have never posted before. last april I got a 1979 f-150 Ranger Xlt ranger Lariat off craigs list for 900.00 it has a 400 engine c-6 trans. and a 9 inch rear end 2wd and every option I think they had I changed the oil when i got it and drove it all year the only problem I had was a power steering line broke trying to get into a tight parking spot. the truck has some rust on the body but no real damage bed is solid with no holes at all cab is solid except for the corners its only rusted through on the rear fenders. A few freinds got under it and all said wow to how clean it was. the motor is a mess of disconected emissions stuff and hoses leading to nowhere vacuum leaks and what not but it always starts runs and drives pretty well with no leaks at all. after the first snow I parked it and have not driven it since I run it about once a week if we have a warm day. I wanted to work on it over winter but it does not fit in my garage. I got an edelbrock intake and want to get a 4 bbl. carb. next. Ive never had a ford truck before and really love this one right now it has about 25 inches of snow on it. and were just waiting until spring

IMO, without other internal modifications to the motor(I am speaking generally of the 351M/400, a 4 barrel manifold/carb will not do much except make your wallet lighter.

Snow sucks, welcome to FTE. You can web wrench on your truck here in the forum.....

79 ford

I got the intake for 40.00 and figured it would be a good way to solve the problem with all the vacuum hoses and such the egr part just has a big bolt stuck in it.Id like to change the timing chain to straight up and headers also since the cat conv is missing
