ANyone see if these have the correct offset to fit the EX?

I am starting to like the look of these and might start looking for a takeoff set



Anyone try them?

 

The rims sit further inward so they will rub your front leaf springs when turning.

Also, by moving the wheels further inward your reduce the stability of the truck. M0oving tires outward increases stability (bigger footprint).

Stay away from spacers ESPECIALLY if you are towing. In stock form, all of the weight of the rims is placed on the hubs, NOT the lugs. If you put spacers you put the load on the lugs and they will fail.

You can get 18" rims from the 2003/2004 Harley Davidson or King Ranch editions. If you want larger you will have to go aftermarket.

 

I thought you could get hub centric spacers...

I just put them on for a test fit... I'll wait until spring to mount them for good weather.

Do a search for "high1" and you'll find loads of info on the topic. I believe he might have been the first to post about running 08 SD 20's on an X.

Hub centric spacers will run you about $150 each. Now add $600 to you tire and rim price.

Cheapest I have ever seen 20" rims with tires are $1600. $2200 for rims & tires - YIKES!

Even with the spacers be prepared for increased bearing wear as you are now increasing the moment arm on the bearings thus more pressure.

Increased bearing wear is a stretch. I can see if the wheels have a huge positive offset and stick out way past the fender wells. But the OEM 20's (et al) will still be centered underneath the hub with the spacers and will exert minimal additional leverage on the bearings.
