Well I looked it up and compared it to the link posted. #25 in the Ford book is a Spicer (Dana) 60 with 4.56 gears. Irronically it says it's a 1965 option only but we know how things don't always leave the factory as the book intended. The little ++ icon next to it says the single axle is made by either Ford or Spicer. But in the end the disign is a Spicer.

Were you looking at the "Warranty or Rating Plate Code Chart" under 1964/65 in the parts catalog..or 1966/69?

OP has a 1966 F250 4WD.

1966/69: Section 40.1 / Page 13

25: Spicer (Dana) 60 / 4.56-1 / 5200 lb. Rear Axle Capacity / Non Limited Slip / Parts List #93

Parts list #93 / Section 40A / page 28 / Dana 60 & 60.3 non locking (no LS).

Bill I was looking at the 64/65 by mistake. Thanks for the catch. Thankfully the info was correct for model and gear ratio. I am still learning these manuals as evidence shows.

For isntance, I was looking for the part # for rear support york A/C compressor mount earlier for a 66 Fairlane and couldn't find it in the text manual only the illustration manual. I did find the whole kit installation part #. In the kit it didn't break out the rear support mount though. It had everything else down the nut and bolt sizes. Looking at the files you gave me on .pdf is a bear when compared to what I have printed out so far.

What the heck is it doing way up there? So depending on the basic # you will find it in a different section of the text manual. I would have thought it would have stayed in the 197 with the rest of the A/C parts like other systems I have looked at...

The Dana Corporation bought Spicer Gear in the early 1970's.

The official 1964/72 FORD TRUCK PARTS CATALOG sez for the 1966 # 25 Rear Axle Ratio code: 4.56-1.

While the A/C compressor (-York- off the cuff = 66B: C3AZ-19703-E -sold a ton of these once-also fit Mustangs) and related internal parts are in Section 197, the A/C compressor mounting brackets AND the clutch/bearing/field are in section 28...WHY?....I have no idea, but it's been this way (and still is) since 1955. That's Ford for ya!
