Mil1ion, I've been wanting to ask you.. is that shipping weight their actual weight you think? curb weight? I would think so but it always seems on the low side.. i see people talking about 5500lb stock F250s, no way in hell they can be that big if my truck is 3800lbs and the F350 4x4 is 4500lbs.

if it's true (and i have faith in your mil1ion :P ) then it really makes these trucks that much better. 79' F350 4x4 weighs less than a modern F150 2WD

Each truck will weigh more or less, depending on the options you choose. Obvioulsy, the more options, the more the truck will weigh.

This will give you an idea of what to add to the base weight of a truck.

1974 camper loading weight info. You will have to look for the F250 4x4 to get close to what you actually have, but still, this will give you an idea of how much extra your truck weighs from bone stock.

I am not exactly sure about a '79 F-350, but my '75 F-250 with '78 one ton axles, all cast iron big-block, 8 quart oil pan, 36 inch tires, and 20 gallons of gas weighs 5240 lbs. Its nice having a truck scale just a mile down the road!

My figure is SHIPPING weight with a practically empty fuel tank.

Once at the dealership things can be added as the vehicle is then prepped for sale.

tude, that does not surprise me. My truck also had a flatbed before I put a regular 8' bed back on it. The flatbed was made out of tongue-and-groove oak and weighed 458 lbs more than the 8' box.
