I am basically comparing what I see in the above pics and what Toyota brought to sema. I do not know much about toyhotas past. Night and day difference between them. I am still impressed with what toyota brought to the plate in 4 months, even if it never debuts. I am still open to some new blood in the diesel scene.

I was trying to find that on there web site but failed. There site is retarted. PLus I can't find my old mag with that info in. Even has diesels for cars, mini vans, you name it they had a diesel for it. Even a diesel Dodge Viper.
It's long been rumored that Ford has been working on a diesel for the 1/2-ton F-150 lineup. Originally it was thought to have been the Super Duty Powerstroke minus two cylinders, thus making a 4.5L V6 turbo diesel. In fact that engine does exist, and it powers the commercial-oriented Ford Class IV-V cab-over-engine chassis cab city trucks. Well, that engine will not be in the F-150...
The diesel that will power the F-150 will be a 4.4L V8. That news leaked out a few months ago. The latest news on this engine is that it will be a larger version of the new V8 diesel that powers the Euro-spec Range Rover! The RR diesel is a 3.6L V8. Rumor has it this new 4.4L diesel may be built in the UK and shipped over here.
Snippet: Ford may produce the 4.4-litre engine in Britain and ship it to the United States. Although Ford has not settled on the engine's production volume, suppliers and analysts say it could produce 100,000 diesel-powered F-150s.
Ford will have the CGI blocks cast/pressed by Tupi in Brazil. Then ship them to Ford's Chihuahua plant for assembly.

I couldn't agree more. I can't believe how many people on this FORD site talk up Toyota. If you own a Ford why would you talk sh^t about them then praise another manufacturer. I've owned many Fords and they all had some problems. Toy has problems too, but our great world of automotive press likes to kept it a secret. On the other hand if any domestic brand has an issue its blowed out of proportion in no time. If you think Toy is so great then you probably shouldn't be worrying about what goes on here.

This is the reality of the situation! The amount of diesel fuel obtainable from a gallon of crude is fixed. The more vehicles put on the road using diesel, the more new homes built using fuel oil for heat, the higher the price of diesel will end up being. Now, diesel fuel is more than a dollar higher than gas. What do you think it will be a year from now...2 years from now...? Fact is diesel engines are NOT the answer.
I'm sick of all the excuses for high diesel prices. It's all just a bunch of bs. The demand isn't any different than 5 years ago. The oil companys sure have us thinking different. They are making record profits and still have the balls to tell us they're just getting by. We're just going to keep getting screwed until we the people do something about it.
The biggest problem is the war in Iraq, don't have anything against the guys who have to risk their lives day in and day out over there but that in my mind is what is to blame for the high prices, so much diesel fuel has to be set aside for that to happen which over runs the supply with the demand.

We're spending over $150 Million a month to fuel our military. But we are also buying directly from the Iraqs. We import from several countrys.
The biggest problem is the war in Iraq, don't have anything against the guys who have to risk their lives day in and day out over there but that in my mind is what is to blame for the high prices, so much diesel fuel has to be set aside for that to happen which over runs the supply with the demand.
the military actually uses JP8 instead of diesel. and #2 gets a fair bit better mileage in road vehicles than JP8, too.

and we're not buying from iraq, they have no oil infrastructure. a pipeline gets laid, and it's blown up shortly afterwards. all our fuel came in from kuwait & saudi. then it's trucked from kuwait to wherever it's needed in iraq.
