Lightning Intake swap.

Is it worth it on a 5.8L engine in the F-150?

The Lightning intake is definitely worth getting.. if for nothing else but the awesome look of the tubular upper. It will allow even a stock motor to make more HP and will complement later upgrades better than the stock intake. It requires a single tube intake and possibly a different throttle cable as well as a single bore TB of course.

Just curious, can a Lightning upper and lower intake be put on a 5.0?

The Lightning upper will fit with a GT40 or Explorer lower, the Lightning lower is for a 5.8 and it's too wide for a 5.0.

first off sorry to bring back an old thread but I dont want to start another for the same questions. First is the lightning lower the only one I can use with the 5.8 in my truck or can I use the explorer uppper/lower? Second I am in the market for some Gt40 heads if I stay away from the P heads will the headers I have work with the swap? If not can any one point me towards some that confirmed to work with the combo? Thanks for all the help guys.
*forgot to add my truck is an 88 4x4 351w.

You can't use a 5.0 lower on a 5.8, the 5.8 block is about 3" wider across the lifter valley.

good deal, I figured the 5.8 gt40 was the only way to go but I just wanted to double check. Thanks again for the info and help.
