The dollar value of a rebuidable 460 4bbl?
This guy at the junk yard said he would sell me this 460 out of a early eighties cougar for 300 dollars. He told me it ran but I have not personally heard it, yet. Is this worth it or should I make him throw in the tranny too (if it works!)?
Thanx 4 the TIPS!

I'm not sure about this, but, I just picked up a 75 460 from a T-bird(high miles but runs, trunk lid in back seat now!)for $120, they pulled. I wasn't to worried about how well it ran, just that it is rebuildable with no obvious problems. They also had a 78 that did not run-no carb-for the same price, that's here in PA. and seems to be the going price. I've found several others at different yards that were $90 if I pulled and $140 if they pulled-no idea if they ran. All were around this price range, it made no difference what type of engine, they get the same for a 4 cyl. for my ranger. Might want to do a little more checking, however I didn't look at anything that new, but would think the price would have been the same no matter what year(unless very low miles). These all were without the trans. Good luck with your project! Chuck P.
