I filled my door holes back in, my own opinion, but I didnt like speakers in the doors of my rc years back. I ran a couple speakers in the pillars....

1976 f-250

It has been awhile since i been on here. But i finally got me a crew cab.It is a 1976 f-250 4x4 short bed has a disk brake low pinion dana 60 in the front 60 rear,460 out of a newer truck. I looked up the vin and originally came with a 360, has a np 435 i think 4 speed and divorced 205. Also has some kind of pto i think bolted on the np205. truck needs alot of work roof, floor pans if i decide not to patch and probably a bed to. Will get more pics when i remember to take them.
would also like to how strong the lp 60 is and are parts fairly easy to get for it. It also has a hydraulic clutch it was wondering is factory or not.

Looks good, how did you do the conversion? I just bought a 97 4x4 frame I am going to use for my conversion.

I used a 97 350 donor that had the front end mashed in, used the parts and built custom spring perches onto the 2wd frame. U can see the proscess here:

I only used the axles and drivetrain. Mounted them up under the 79 frame. I think the 97 frame is 2.5 " or so longer. But have fun with it. U can hit up on my fb page if u need any suggestions.

I will do that. I have a 10.25 and getting a Dana 69 correct to the year for my donor frame. I plan to replace the driveshafts. And ordering a new transfer case and 4x4 transmission. My big scare right now is the cab mounting to the frame. Did you have to do some altering to the body mount brackets? I will ask questions on your Facebook page too but can't get it to load up right now.

I used the 2wd frame and left the cab on it. Would have had to move cab mounts on the 97. It was easier doing it this way anyways, besides , the 97 was pretty messed up in the front. The only thing i didnt strip off the 79 frame was the cab. No lift or space. Spent alot of time on the creeper cleanin the underside up. Lol... The spring oerches for front were pretty simple. And all i had to do in rear was move spring pads in on both sides. Way easier and simpler than a body swap in my opinion. No lift. Used the factory 97 lift block with my 79 leaf pack out back and placement of front hangers gained me 5" over stock im pretty happy with its stance.

hey guys i was wondering if anyone ever put a matte black vinyl between the doors on their crew cabs like the dodges do. Like the one in the pic. i was just wondering because i have and opportunity to buy a crew cab or a supercab for my next build and i just can get over that triangle between the front and back doors and i thought maybe the vinyl would make it more appealing to me

Don't know if anybody has done it, but I personally don't think it would look right with the dent style body

Hello All,

I'm hoping you all will be kind to some stupid questions. I bought a '75 F150 Supercab a few weeks back that I discovered tucked in a garage with a small for sale sign. The owner says he bought from the original owner, his Dad in '76, and seemed to know the truck well. This is a real change for me as I'm typically more of a car guy but I'm just really enjoying this truck. Anyway, the seller said it has the original motor. It is a Ranger and has a 460 motor. Everything I find says that a 460 was not an option on a '75 so I am concerned that it is not the original motor.. It runs great, has 103K miles and great original paint; brown over white. I would love to hear opinions on value; it also has factory air, Psteering, Pbrakes, towing pkg..

Thanks,

Scott

Welcome to FTE, Scott. Great place to hang out and learn a ton of stuff.

Just to let you know, you posted in a crew cab thread and you say you have a super cab. You'd be better off starting a new thread of your own in the main 73-79 forum.

Post the VIN and some pics of your truck. The VIN can be decoded to determine the original engine and other fascinating details about your truck.
