I would be happy to share some pics for you BUT I don't want to violate CC only thread rules. If nobody cares I will post a few pics of my projects if it's a violation or anybody objects then I won't. Actually two of them are station wagons and they can be used as trucks Ha Ha. One of them is actually a FORD, has 4 doors and can haul 4'x8' sheets of plywood.

Yea there was a cheap plug and play kit on it when i got it. Its not the most difficult thing to do if you have decent mechanical electrical and welding skills. I would recommend letting a professional shop do it just because there are so many hack jobs out there.

Price varies tremendously depending on what all you want. Id say you might could do it for around $3,000 if you did it all yourself and prices climb drastically from there. Id say $6-8k on average for a shop to do it. But you get what you pay for. Some of the top shops will chargs $15-25k but will be full custom frame builds

In the last month there's been 5 crews that I've noticed on Seattle and Portland Craigslist.

Can anybody educate me on the towing capacity of 73 CC shortbed with 360ci and automatic? I am restoring this truck and I want to use it to tow my old cars to car shows. I have a 20' car hauler and loaded with one of my cars weighs aprox. 6-7K lbs. It is a tag along trailer. My truck only has 90K miles and engine and transmission seem to both be strong. Has headers and dual exhaust. Thanks

There is a lot of good info over at the Fordification site. They have factory sales brochures in the "Literature Library" that has some towing specs. I dont know if any of it is crew specific. It's worth browsing around. Check the link:

Check out this thread. This guy does out of this world work. I'm gonna have him do a couple for me of my trucks.

Thought I'd share a walk around video of my '78 crew.

Anyone else have videos to post?

Extremely clean looking truck. Very nice! Did you build/restore it?

Thanks! Yes, the restoration took about a year and I couldn't be happier. The truck was originally that dark, 70's brown so the red definitely draws attention.
