1997 wad the last year of the obs f250 and f350 hd. Gas and diesel. There is no such thing as an f150hd. There was an f250ld and an f250hd. The f350 stayed the same from 92-97.

Only 1 time surprisingly--an old drunk Cowboy in a bar (who as i found out breeds bulls for a living $$$$$) made me a $12,000 offer on Last Valetines day but I didnt call him the following weekend for fear of him actually providing the cash lol I have however been cut off and stopped dead in traffic for people to take pictures.

When i purchased it from the man that purchased it from the 2nd owner in NM the story is it was factory coach built for the New MExican rail road, 1 of 2. The way the cabs are scallop welded together, and with a single frame, i tend to believe the story. Its not saws built thats for sure

That is a rare sight!
What drivetrain does it have?

How many football fields does it take to do a U-turn?!

Factory 391FT 4bbl, 4 speed with drum parking brake, 2 speed rear end, sitting on 10" lift blocks front and rear, death wobble as slow as 10MPH, top speed 40MPH, two giant side fuel tanks, rear cab tank, rear frame rail tank, roll bar fuel tank, four locking tool boxes on bed, 4 receiver hitch holes built into bed, 5th wheel pin style on bed. Power steering, dual battery. I won one car show at a monster truck event, crowd pleased in a classic car parade, and showed up to a car show 4 hours late and still almost won by vote haha

future plans- 2 ton 9" style 4x4 axles, and a power stroke 7.3 turbo automatic
to use as a tow rig for my 79 Monster Truck.

Always good to see another 4x4 f600. I like the white roof and brown combo.

Sweet! If you are planning a 7.3 swap think throughly what you want. If you plan on putting some upgrades for more HP to help you tow I would recommend the 96 or 97 7.3 powerstroke blocks as a foundation.

The late 97 blocks are the heaviest cast of the 7.3 blocks and came with factory forged rods; however, they had smaller injectors with no factory IC or electric fuel.

If you want the simplest 7.3 swap get a late 99-03 engine. They created more factory HP and already had electric fuel, an IC, higher output HPOP, and larger injectors.

Just my .02

edit: also the 94-97 E40D automatic transmissions aren't as stout as the 99-03 4R100s.
Neither were SUPER strong from the factory, but the 4R100s definately are better of the two in factory form.

That's a pretty nice 6 crew. Looks like a fun old truck. Good luck with the swap and post pics.

Just wanted to add to the crew collection. I just picked up a 78 F250 with a HP 60. I had to buy the whole truck just for that axle. Gonna do a swap into the crew then restore the 78.

does anyone have a 2wd crew cab with a 300 six in it that would be willing to measure the height of there frame perches? i just pulled my 390 and put a 300 in my 74 crew cab and i cant get the mounts to line up. i thought it would be the same perches just moved forward but the forward set of holes is still to far back and the motor looks like it may sit a little bit to high. the mounts are sitting flat on the perches right now but the bolts are in front of the perches.
