greetings fellow Crew Cab fanatics, a newbie here!

Here's my first question here on these boards: Was there ever a factory built 1973-1979 4x4 Crew OR Supercab with a short bed?

Ive been lookin to purchase one, however for some reason, I cant find any.

Thank you for your replys in advance

I don't know about the Supercab but they did make a short bed crew.I finally found mine after about 6 months of looking. And I don't mean just looking in the local paper.I looked everywhere.I don't know how much you are planning on putting in to one but I got mine from Rustfree Classics in Indianapolis Indiana. It is a 1979 F250.They have a website where they post their inventory but you can also call and ask if you don't see anything that you want up there because they clean everything up before they put it on the website and they don't have any junk.I am pretty sure the website is rustfreeclassics.com but if it is not just google it and it will find it.If you end up calling them ask for Scott,he is the owner and it is a one man operation and make sure you tell him that Jeffrey from N.C. told you to call.Hope this helps.

I know crew cab 4wds came in short bed. In fact Ford didn't make a 4wd LONG bed crew cab until the 80's.

As for the supercabs - I think they had 4wd shorts beads as well. In fact - I THINK it might be the same as the crews = no 4wd long beds. Not 100% positive on that though.

And now for that pic above you. Did you FINALLY get your crew on it's wheels Dave????????

Can I cannibalize the bed from an F250 instead?

Thanks
Hey guys, I've posted a question about beds too and didn't hear from anyone who knew so I thought I'd bump this thread to see if one of you guys who knows can chime in.

I've taken a flat bed off of my '78 F250 Crew Cab and wondering if a short bed from any model will work or do we need one specifically for a Crew Cab? Are 250 and 350 beds interchangable? Thanks!

Any 73-79 shortbed should work on your truck, they are the same F150-F250-F350

They do have guys that will deliver it also.I mapped it out and it was about 12 hours from North Carolina and almost 800 miles. It cost me $500 to get it delivered and every way I figured it up,driving up there and then driving 2 vehicles back or flying and driving just the truck back,I figured I would just be better off getting it delivered.Plus if something would have happened on the way back it would have been my problem to.

Crews only came in shortbed 4x4...Supercabs only came in longbed 4x4...as far as 2wd I believe either long or short was available for both.

I've posted my '76 Shortbox 4X4 Crew on Craigslist several times cheap and no one will buy it. Can't believe you guys will go half way across the country.
