Chase I won't tell ya that I found a set of XLT panels, front and back in black on ebay last year for 260 bucks then. What a deal that was! It had everything from the handles, window cranks and door pulls!

Not bad. I have seen sets go cheap. Black ones that were in nice condition for under $200...

I also sold my ENTIRE old crew (76 2wd - XLT) for $650 WITH the red front and rear door panels in good condition.

Door panels don't really phase me though - as I will be making aluminum ones for my trucks

I go for the stock look with my builds so the black XLT panels will be a perfect fit when it's done.

Post some pics of your panels when you get that far. Curious to see how you blend the door handles in.

Plan is to convert to toyota pickup style interior handles - so as to make them flat with the door.

If you want to PM me I can send you pics I have saved that show what they will be like. They are other 70's Fords - but I will do mine slightly different.

Not gonna get to mine for a while - but I know exactly what they will end up like - as I did some for my alfa romeo alread.

I'll see them when your done, no big hurry. Aluminum door panels look nice but I haven't seen one yet that looks good with the original door handles.

I've seen ONE that's "ok". Doesn't matter to me though as I could CARE LESS about keeping the original door handles.

I go for the best part for the job. Which is quite often NOT what Ford put there originally

The guy who had the truck before me also decided to make his own version of door panels with a wooden arm rest and that is why I am trying to find new ones now. They look like something I made in wood shop class back in middle school.I just think it might look tacky with new ones up front and the original on the back doors.I'm sure that after 30 years they are not going to be the same color.

on the bump sides the panels almost look like they are the same just with one side cut down to size, and swaped sides. front driver is put on the rear passenger....

Thinking the Government stimulus plan is working is like thinking that taking water form the deep end of a pool and dumping it in the shallow end will raise the water level of the pool.
