Growing up my uncle had a 65 crew flareside with six cylinder 4 speed. Forest service truck. He wished he kept it.

I saw a 65 crewcab sitting in the salvage yard last year. Probably still there.

Hey guys, since this is a crewcab specific question, i'll post here rather than suspension forum.

I put a 4" suspension lift kit on my 1978 F250 4x4 crewcab. The rear driveshaft is a two piece shaft that has a carrier bearing between the longer section of shaft (front section) and the shorter section (rear section). Right now the whole body is off the truck but all the driveline is installed (engine, tranny, etc). My concern is the angle of the two drive shafts by the carrier bearing. Does anybody here have a lift kit on their crew? Did you have to relocate the carrier bearing lower to minimize the angle on the u-joint by the carrier bearing? If you didn't, do you have any drivetrain vibration at highway speeds?
Thanks,
Eric

roxndirt64, thanks for the reply. How thick is your spacer, ie. how many inches down does it drop the carrier bearing? How is the spacer made? tube steel, C channel, etc?? if ya could shoot a pic, that would be super! Thanks, Eric

it all depends on how much lift, as to how much of a spacer for your carrier bearing to line up. I can take a pic tomorrow. Maybe you could tell me where to go on here to post the pic. Im not real computer savy. lol Otherwise Ill need an email.

Rox - yea it's a 4" lift, but I also just thought about the fact that you probably have a divorced transfer case since yours is a '75. Mine is a 78 with the married NP205. There maybe some angle differences between the two. I guess I might have to just measure mine to be exact. I would however like to see how to make the drop bracket. you can email some pics to emjohan@mchsi.com that show the dropped bracket.

Thanks!!!
