Are you trying to rebuild your CV joint? I have heard it refered to as a double cardan as well.

Here is a writeup I found in two seconds after I typed "double cardan joint" into google.

Here is a writeup on how to rebuild one. http://www.rblewis.net/personal/bronco/driveshaft/

These joints are used to reduce driveline angles. They do just that and do it well. There's a small screw on these u-joints in place of a grease zerk for clearance. Get a needle fitting for your grease gun and if these are kept lubricated they last for many miles.
