Park aid?

I have an 01 Windstar, I know this is not a Windstar site but, this past week when placed in reverse the park aid will switch to off on its own.
I tired to select it back on and it remains off. Anyone know of a way to test this dash switch, wiring, sensors or is there a Windstar site that I can go to for Help??

Thanks.

I have a Windstar too. Park Aid? Oh yeah, that would be my wife, but she is always barking directions from the rear seat, not the rear bumper. On? Off? She is always on. On my nearves that is.

All kidding aside though I have heard that there is a sensor in the rear underside of the bumper just under the rear drivers side and you could be experiencing an intermintent connection. Just check to see if it is fully installed. The connector that is.

Simple fix, when you need aid parking, tell your wife to get out and tell you when to stop.

Seriously though, it could be that one of the sensors are on the fritz, causing the whole system not to work. You can try cleaning them out at a self serve car wash. The only way to be sure is to put it on a ford computer to see if they are working or not.

Neet gizmo, when they work, but IMO a very expensive item not needed.

I wish I could be more help.
