$3.65 in Decatur Illinois
I hear a lot of people say Bush is making millions off of the oil prices
but I don't hear the Dem's saying it - so I too would want to see it
in print (anything beside the New York Times that is) before I'll believe it
What kills me about this whole thing is NO ONE (Politician) is stepping up and saying, hey what the hell is going on here??? So if you don't think that big oil business in every politicains pockets... This should be proof... Where is congress and the house on this, most of the time they would be knocking reporters over trying to get on TV about this... Not this time... So someone or something has got them shut up over this deal...
Mark, quick question... Why are some many people spending millions of dollars for a job that pays only $400,000. a year??? it's all about the money....
Quoto from Jerry Mcguire,
Show me the Money...
Doc.

Answer: EGO
Add to the ego, the power that comes with it. Most of 'em are wealthy before they even become involved. Wealthy and bored.........what should I do today? I think I will try and become president. The job damn sure don't pay enough for the grief that comes with it. I'm sure the pardon's that were issued in slick willies last couple of days were quite lucrative, but who knows? They're all criminals for the most part, but the President by himself is pretty much powerless in matters such as oil prices. About the only thing the congress will let him do is go to war when he wants, but only in a manner that makes it nearly impossible to win. I'm a lucky enough to have survived USMC combat survior of Viet Nam, but I lost 58,500 friends there, all do the gutless politicians. That mess could have been won in 48 hours, with maybe no US casualties at all. But the world would view us a bad people. Well screw them!

Fuel here today 3.55 and gas 3.14 sux . it will be 4.00 soon but maybe when it starts to put people out of work people will notice. And to Mark i sometimes read your post and dont know how to take your remarks but now have all respect for you as USMC combat vet from Nam. WILL think different from now on and thank you for your service to our country .And for you Islander you live in a great place i spent about 90 days there in a tent but most of us here do care about fuel price so you smile about company card but i for one dont wish to hear about it that must be the price for living in such pretty place Well that is my 5 cents tor today!!!!!!!!!
Fuel has jumped in price the past week or so. I saw diesel for $3.81 at an Irving station yesterday... $4.00 a gallon is not far off. Oh, by the way this is in Maine.
I am telling all of you again that you are being conditioned to pay $4 a gallon. See how they schmoozed the $3 a gallon thing? Remember the outrage then?
Just suck it up. Don't bother your lawmakers to explain how our currency can fall that much in the international market and why oil companies have little interest in obtaining oil at a cheaper rate. Why bother? They can charge what they want and still sell it.
Ok back on 2/12 here in Wake Forest, NC (just north of Raleigh) diesel was $3.339 for quite a while. On Monday it JUMPED to $3.599 and regular gas was $2.899 and also JUMPED to $ 3.159 !! Holy Crap!! Time to get out the buggy for the horses! :-)
I still agree that the President is not the cause of the price being so high. I Believe that Bush has the power to lower the prices if he again opened the reserve, as we have seen before. I agree that not one politician has stood up to this BS, including the fool from My State, who is called the secratary of Energy ( Sen Levin )..
I agree with Mark's comments that Vietnam was a political disaster, ( i doubt 48 hours, I mean our Soldiers are Badass, but 48 hours?). I think Iraqi is proving to be the same. Our soliders hands are tied. I think home bodies here in the states fail to reconize that when Japan finally fell, we occupied it well into the 50's. But that was the last time when we declaired war, we actually meant it. Sorry to ramble on..

This will be my last non PSD related post, at least until something else really upsets me. But having seen American's brains and innards scattered all over jungle and rice paddie I've become a firm believer in the sort of war as was finally used in WW-2, where were those places? Oh yeah Nagasaki, and Hiroshima. Don't think one American life was lost in those two incidents. Seems to me it was the Jap's that attacted first. Kind of ring a bell with the happening in NYC Sept. 11, 2001. Has Japan ever considered taking over the USA again?

Okay, I've gotta agree, but we deserve it. Just from our overall refusal to work hard and expect the government to take care of us from the cradle to the grave and choose to elect politicians that promise to do just that.

Yep, using Lean manufacturing concepts that were taught to them by the US military. Those concepts are now being adopted by American companies, 50 years too late.
