Whats in a gallon, 4 liters? Tha'd be gettin close to 6$/ gallon. I think its a little funny that people are pulling out there old farm trucks with gas v8's because gas is 4cents cheaper...
My 5.7 v8 chev is a lot heavier on fuel than my 7.3, and half the truck.
3.85 to a gallon, and I'm jealous of those that have gas powered trucks in reserve. In case you've not seen it in the commuter car thread I will attach it here for you to see what I've been reduced to driving. Maybe this will kill this thread. It will not allow me to attach it again, so if you're interested you'll have to go here.

The prices are outrageous and are killing my summer plans. and the next 5 years of my life commuting to college and home are going to kill me. Hiring a private jet to get places(college and back) sounds cheaper by the day.
I know how ya feel. My brother flies a LJ24, which uses like 400 (or 600 i can't remember) pounds a minute sitting at idle.
I find it hard to believe that fuel is supposed to go down when crude hit over $130 today.

Larry Elder, a right wing talk show host, today said the while the price of "gas" has gone up 200%, incomes have gone up 350% during the same period. . I don't know if he's right but diesel at $4.95 a gallon now is still hard to deal with.
On my way to my dad's house this morning, i noticed diesel was for $4.49. I said, yeah, up $.10 from yesterday. At 3 this afternoon, I was driving back past the same stations and they were all $4.59. WTF happened??
then I get home to watch the news, crude @ $133!!!! glad i got my bio going, just need to get enough oil to keep me on the road.

Larry must be talking about the Oil Company Exectives, cause no one around here has had a pay increase other than the pitiful 2.5% COLA raise. That is a joke.
I feel sorry for the owners of these big oil companies, they must be feeling a cunch here, anyone want to start a donation ring for them?
Maybe if we all donate 10$ we can put their great great great great great grandchildren through college!

I don't feel sorry for the oil execs cause they are making enough money to afford fuel, and I don't feel sorry for the politicians cause if they can't afford fuel, they'll just vote themselves another raise to cover it. But I am feeling a little sorry for myself and the rest of the working class that is caught in the middle while the oil execs get rich and the politicians grandstand and blame the oil execs, and nobody in power even attempts solve the problem.
$5.00 in northern cali time to find a nice commuter car this summer.
$4.99 yesterday, $5.03 this morning going to work, $5.09 when I got off. You heard what the head of Shell Oil said yesterday? He said unless congress allows them to explore, drill, build more refineries and explore alternative sources, in a couple of years, $5.00/gal fuel will seem like a bargain. To which rep. Maxine Waters said "we will be social..." (was going to say socializing oil), but finally said "we will take over oil if necessary". This is going to be great. The government will buy oil from the Arabs for $200/barrel, sell it to us for $100/barrel, and raise taxes on us to cover the difference. Such a deal.
All the while, Polar Bears will be staying at the Hilton.
