Most places around metro detroit are 3.40. Some as low as 3.29. Should have been an oil man. Check for yourself Exxon mobile grossed 40 billion last year in profit. Gas is still over $3.00. When you break it down thats 450K a day i profit. Unbelievable.

The price of all fuels started really escalating with the beginning of the Alaskan pipeline. We really do need more oil from the frozen north, but I feel we are still paying today for all the money spent there in the 1970's.

Here's the sad part. 4.00 fuel is just around the corner.

3.07 across the river in Kentucky over the weekend. I noticed gas jumped 20 cents today here in Indiana. They don't display diesel prices on the signs.

One more reason to run BioD. I visited a different vendor here in Houston last week. He is selling Bio D made in Iowa from a distilled process for $3.19 a gallon in Houston. All these guys I have spoken with tell me demand is growing due to highh dino D pricing.

It's a good alternative!

Nostalgia over fuel prices

The first time I filled up my truck it was $1.33. The last time I filled my truck is was $3.35. A 152% increase. Of course that is in "Today's Dollars" which I have less of than yesterday. Should have married an oil woman.

Edit: That first fill up was in May of 2002.

The usual price around here seems to be 3.25, I seen it today for 3.13. Jeff I am going to have to find that travel center its probably alot cheaper now.

Interesting difference in price in 2 local towns. One is at $3.39 and 9 miles away it is $3.21. Almost makes it worth the drive. Unfortunately the fuel at the cheaper station has been the cause of a lot of trucks gelling compared to fuel from other stations. That info is from a diesel truck shop and from a phone call to Howse. Guess there's a trade-off.

Ray, you're right. The good part is I live half way between both. But I filled up with LSD in Waterloo today for $3.24. They also had ULSD for $3.29. Needless to say, I try to hit that station when I am up that way.

By the way, that is an eighteen cent difference. Kind of sweetens it up a little. But still not really worth driving from one town to the other and back though.
