Yeah. It's a pain in the arce though. I have only done it a few times since it's such a hassle.

It's easier when I am west of here and can cross over a pretty clear bridge in little towns. Here by the main "tourist" attractions, bridge times are usually 1 hour, DOH!

I won't even think about it right now, though, since mexico has their military all along the border towns.

Why are they "guarding the border"? I hear Laredo has had some security issues. Drug gangs, cop killings, hostige taking. You seeing that in Brownsville?

You all are talking about diesel aren't you? Here in Michigan I paid $3.59 yesterday. Need to know where you are getting it, looks reasonable to me after paying these prices. Wait until the summer, the are talking regular gas going to $4 in some parts of the country, imagine what diesel will be. Start taking out the loans.

Yep. This town is getting to rough for me. It's really changed in the past 10 years. I'm closer to mcallen, but it is all over from brownsville to laredo.

A few years back the wife and i took the inlaws to Nuevo Laredo to burn a day on a Saturday. The night before there had been a shot out that killed numerous gangbangers and cops. If I remeber correctly the cheif of police was also murdered.

That was the last time we visited. What business are you in?

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Fuel prices suck! Now we are back on track.

Fuel prices suck! It's just wrong that they have allowed so many good for nothing factions have the control they due just because of their donations. I think of them worse then the way i think of insurance.

At that time I was in Corpus Christi. I now reside near Houston.

It's amazing how now of our politicians are even talking about the price increases. Not a word. We hear alot about change, hope, he said, she said, your not allowed to say his middle name..........but nothing about price increases.

BioD is jumping now also due to the increase in cost of soybean oil. The fella that runs the station told me the lobbiests (sp?) managed to persuade an amendment for several east Texas counties, including Harris (Houston), to prohibit anything above B20. So now anyone on the road with high mixtures of BioD can be written a ticket.

It's unbelievable! We are within a few dollars of the highest priced fuel in HISTORY and it is not at the top of the political agenda. I'm not sure is even at the bottom of the agenda. How is that no one in Wash DC is talking about this issue?

Because they're all busy courting the motor voter votes to be the next a$$ in the White House. It is a illegal immigrant thing, and the baby boomers coming to the age that free health care (which of course there is no such thing) is all they are concerned about right now. Plus government at all levels makes so much money off of petroleum product's and realize we need the fuel, the cost of fuel, even that which goes in their private jets is the least of their worries.

That's right off of the e-Truckers site. The 0.37 is the state only tax, add to that the 24 cents Fed. Sorry about the toll road mistake. I've not been to Connecticut since the '80's and I thought there were some toll roads there. I am about as right wing as you can get, but I would consider one of your Senator's for President simply because of his stance on Irag and Islam's war on "infidels". I can proudly say I'm one of those.
Lieberman or Dodd? Lieberman is independent since some idiot called Lamont beat him for the Democratic nomination, but he romped Lamont in the real election. Dodd is your run of the mill gray senator. I like Lieberman.

Well me too of course. I couldn't care less if Dodd were shot at sunrise tomorrow morning. In fact that would be a giant step in the right direction.

I'm trying to put this thought together for why the prices of oil are skyrocketing so badly. I came up with a simple little comparison. Say you're in the business of selling widgets and for years your main customer was consumer's in the USA. But you had to buy your raw material to produce these widgets from a 3rd world country. Then all of a sudden along come's another huge consumer of the same widget with a huge widget hungry population that also had to buy the raw material to manufacture the same type of widget. Of course the 3rd world country is going to make out like a bandit and keep on raising the prices of the material so that everyone but them suffers. But I still stick by my idea that boycotting the largest of the widget supplier (Exxon/Mobile) will cause the price to drop down some. What we're doing to Citgo right now is working. 20 cent's a gallon less and still people aren't buying from them in droves. I love it!!

Dodd's been around forever, but you never hear anything about him. Lieberman is in the news somewhat regularly around here. As long as we don't get people in this state that think it would be great to let the homos do whatever they want I'm ok with things. For a state full of up-tight people the LEOs around here are actually pretty nice. Usually they'll let you get off with a pretty fair bit of stuff.
