Wrongo, Mark. You can't try to tell me different on your Connecticut facts. Connecticut as no toll roads in the entire state. Massachusetts and New York have them, but Connecticut has no toll roads. They thought they were unsafe. Since they removed the tolls they used that to justify a tax raise on fuel. Massachusetts is pretty liberal and I'm not too sure about New Hampshire. Connecticut is very Democrat-biased, but I wouldn't say it is overly liberal. Diesel at the local truck stop was about $3.79 as of last Sunday. Not sure what it is now. About .60$ of every gallon here is tax to the best of my knowledge.
I had over 1/2 a tank today and still went to fill up. At $3.52 a gallon it still cost me $64. I wasn't waiting for tomorrow. At this point I am not going to let it get below 1/2 tank because it is too painful.
Did I feel stupid? Heck yes, rushing out to get fuel at $3 1/2 per gallon before it goes up. Reality bites.
I took a trip to LA and had to throw a few gallons to make it home while driving through san diego. Paid 3.99 at the Los Coches Shell, so i just dumped 5 gallons (20 bucks) to make it over the hill. Tomarrow i will cross the border and fill up at 2 dlls a gallon.
This is getting out of hand here in Cali.....

There's a Citgo station about 5 miles from the RV park that I'm calling home right now that just may have the cheapest diesel fuel in the nation and still no one is buying it. It's 20 cent's less than the Loves Truck Stop out on I-77 that is traditionally the cheapest in SC. So what does that tell you? Boycotting Citgo is working! Now if we can all get together and do the same with Exxon/Mobile we may just start to see a real drop in fuel prices. 20 cents is a big difference within just a few miles of each other.

Based on using the actual tax tables (see link below), here are some
examples on what the taxes were/are on various amounts of income for
both singles and married couples. So let's see if the Bush tax cuts
only helped the rich.
Taxes under ffice:smarttags" /> lace w:st="on"> Clinton lace> 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250
If you want to know just how effective the mainstream media is, it is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and > >
Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If any democrat is elected, ALL of them say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall > >
into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don’t > >
even know what happened. > >

That's right off of the e-Truckers site. The 0.37 is the state only tax, add to that the 24 cents Fed. Sorry about the toll road mistake. I've not been to Connecticut since the '80's and I thought there were some toll roads there. I am about as right wing as you can get, but I would consider one of your Senator's for President simply because of his stance on Irag and Islam's war on "infidels". I can proudly say I'm one of those.
