The Best of both worlds?

Ebay item # 120220923318 ;
I'm sure someone been talking about this ebay truck; I'm not sold on the concept, but each to his or her own.

You are right , to each his/her own. But I think it looks just like what it is. It's a 50's front end stuck on a new truck. Remember when they used to put Monte Carlos on four wheel drive Chevy frames,and jack them all up. That's what this reminds me of. But, that's just my opinion. I wouldn't spend that much time on trying to make an old truck look new, nor would I spend the time making a new truck look old.

If you squint your eyes just enough, it looks like a late model dodge.

If the car companys offered something like this insteade of the retro,T-bird,pt cruiser,srt,and such,they wold sell a bunch,How about a 57 t-bird with a modern drive train and suspention? Or how many 57 chevys would they sell.A 62 vette that rode and handled ? we can only dream.

I thought from the way yall were talking that is what it was. I saw it in '97 or '98 in Pigeon Forge TN at the Supernats. I kind of like it, but I'm kind of warped too? There was a local guy a few years ago who made a kit to put a fiberglass front end on a '90 or so T-Bird to make it look like a '49 Ford car. It was kind of cool, and had appeal? You could do that and a custom paint job even if you couldnt do anything else and have a real nice driver with all the amenities.

Like I said I kind of liked it.

I saw / read about a company making chexy trucks on a 48 or so chasis design called Southern Comfort in a past copy of Custom Classic Truck Magazine. All modern comforts with a old style look for around 40K.

Customcab,

I saw the same truck. 48-53 Chevy Five Window with everything new and updated except the body style. Some of the guys on this website would love the fact that it's a Chevy body style running a FORD engine. I heard that Chevrolet let the company use their body style but wouldn't let them run a Chevy engine because they were worried that customers who bought the trucks from Southern Motors would take them to Chevy dealerships if there was a problem with them trying to get them fixed under a Chevy warranty. Don't know if that is true or not.

Shane; I guess I didn't pay that close of attention in engine; I thought it was chexy all the way. It was / is a sharp looking truck from Southern Motors; 1st company in my opinion to replicate a old classic.
