Thanks Roger; Don't know why I can't do that.

There wouldn't be much room for a console between the van seats, maybe 5" or so. The main thing I like about them is when I rest my arms on the armrests, my hands are right at the steering wheel. The seats are sitting on some flatbar across the original seat track, so they are about the right height. I think the red ones were sitting right on the floor.

I'm not a real fan of the headrests sticking up in the rear window, but don't see many buckets with armrests that are low-back.

Oh well, I have plenty of time before I really need to make this decision. Next step is to blast the inside of the cab and get some epoxy primer on it so that I can put the glass back in.

Bench seat

It depends on the look to me more than anything; like others have suggested, I'm not fond of the headrest above window line and prefer the bench look. Have you considered incorporating the original frame, using some of the elements from the newer seats, like say splitting the back portion, maybe include armrests, fold down divider, etc ? I used my original frame, replaced springs with flat springs. In the end it's what you prefer.

In my 48 I opted for a real neat clean look. I found a third rear seat out of a Dodge Caravan. It gives me just enough room on both sides, and a small headrest for visibility. The Cararvan seats measure 48" out to out. It fits perf3ect in the 48. And it's not real thick. So, I don't feel crammed up against the steering wheel. Again, my .02

Aussie Ford utes and Station wagons have a "bench-bucket"...bench bottom with 2 seat backs and a fold-down centre armrest....if you remove the headrests, with the seat mounted for max legroom (I'm 6"4) the seat tops should fit just nicely under the rear window flange

Like others, I'm opposed to being able to see the seats poking up above the rear glass. I'm running some buckets from a late 90's Suburban, they are 6 way power with lumbar supports and everything. I got them for free. I have removed the headrests from them.

I think if I were to go out and buy some seats I'd try to find a 60/40 split bench, maybe one with a fold down armrest. GM had some great seats in the '88 and up trucks but my seats were free......free is good

I like the 60/40,but thats my opinion.Who cares if the headrest show, they do in almost all other vehicles don't they. You can always pop them off if it hurts that bad.

9teen56100 where did you get your interior fabric.Looks sharp. Do it yourself or pre-made? Really like your door panel with the arm rest.

I too prefer the bench seat to buckets. Here's the Ranger seat in my 48. It fits perfectly and I was able to use the original seat frame. Since it folds forward I also still have access to the original tool tray...

I like the Ranger seat. Looks like it was made to be there.
