Oil Change

Oil Change
This seems to be a stupid question but I am not familiar with the engine of my 1950 F1 Flathead V-8. I am planning to change the oil and I want to be sure I have the steps correct.
1. Remove the oil drain plug which is located in the middle of the truck about a couple of feet behing the front tires. It is a plug with a square top.
2. After draining, replace drain plug.
3. Remove the oil filler cap from the engine area and put the reccommened amount of oil in the tube to the cap.
4. Replace the oil filler cap.
If oil pressure decreases then I am assuming it will go back up after the oil change.
I know this a simple procedure to all of you but it is new to me. Thanks for all of your help!

Sounds like you've got it. The oil filler cap is also a crankcase breather inlet.
If running a filter in the canister - and it's a good idea, you unscrew the bolt in the center of the cap and carefully lift the cap off. Grab the wire bail and with a twisting motion, pull the oil filter up off the center post. Use fresh oil to lubricate the gasket in the center of the new filter and push it down on the post until it bottoms out. Replace the gasket on the canister lid with a new one (thinner one of the two that comes with the filter) and reattach the lid in place. NAPA filter number is 1006. This commom filter is still used in tractors, trucks and big equipment.
